The not knowing has come to an end

Well, I finally got the news today about my position at work. I did not know if I was going to get Mike's job or be made to bid on it and hope to get it. I have been doing his and Manny's job since they both left. My temporary boss Scott informed me today before I see the job posting...they are going to post Mike's position! And I can not bid on it! Because the Director decided to combine Mike's job that I have been doing with Sam's job that I am unable to do. Sam was supposed to do alot of report writting with Crystal and other programs. I only know one of the programs, not all of them. What does this mean for me? I am not exactly sure. I think by the looks of the post, I will go back to doing my work and I will also continue doing some of Mike's job duties as well. This also means that the overtime will be coming to an end soon maybe, about 2-3 months more probablly. How do I feel about this? A tad bit upset. I have mixed emotions right now. The position is 6 grade levels higher than I am, so it would have been a hugh pay increase. But on the flip side I now will not be hounded by people all day long. Then also, of coarse it makes me mad cause I did all the hard work, and then they will bring someone in after the fact. I guess I really do not want to think about it any more right now. Cause the more I think about it, the more the reality is setting in. And I am starting to get upset.

michele,
sorry it didn't work out the way u had hoped, but ya know what? try to find the positive in everything cause everything happens for a reason. u may not know why exactly right now, but there IS a good reason, I assure you.
also, u have a job and that in itself is something to be thankful for. enjoy the weekend.
