Back from the the Greek Festival

Picked Cody up from school and off to the Greek Festival we went. Did not get to spend too much time there but did get to enjoy some dinner and desert. While eating they did have the dancers back on the floor. I know my dad would have been out there with them dancing away - probably was. I got a sampler platter since we could not decide, and of coarse a lamb gyro! On the sampler it had dolmathes, meatballs, pastitsio, spanakopita, a small salad and bread. Almost had a melt down as they were out of the stuffed grape leaves, but then showed up with one last pan with a few on it. That was a close call! Then we got a to-go thing of deserts. Of coarse we had baklava, kourambiethes, kataifi, finikia, and koulourakia. I was 20cents short to get a Koke which is kind of like a boston cream pie! I was searching for change. Had the 20 cents in my car, should have gone back in and got it. But I did not do it. On the way home Cody said "so it will be a year ntil we eat good like that again". Need to bring him over to Tarpon Springs! They did not have any olives or feta, but that is ok. Those were the best grape leaves I have had in a very long time! My mouth is watering for more, one was just not enough. Next year when we go back Cody will be 21, so he will probably try the Ouzo! Yeah I do not think so, but he does. He does not drink so to try that, he will be amazed to say the least! Hope everyone else had a wonderful weekend.

I seriously wish I could have gone! I would love for Josh & the boys to experience this. It is not often that I get to share any part of my family heritage (what part I DO know of it...) with them and we get to see Josh's "southern" roots each and every day. I would LOVE to go next year, if possible. I was JUST talking to Grandma about the Stuffed Grapevine leaves! It has been over 10 years since I had some.
Guess what??? 12 more days...woohooo!!!
