update from Jennifer

Copied from her blog.......
We're home and Dylan is doing fine. We left around 4:30 a.m. and I ended up driving since Josh didn't get good sleep. I made it to the hospital really early but we were able to start early. The nurse was extremely nice and I think that made all the difference in the world. She explained what she was going to to & what medications they were going to give him. The first thing they had to do was put in an IV so that they wouldn't have to poke him seven different times. That was the hardest part and he did extremely well and only cried a very little bit when he saw a little blood on his shirt. The first medication he had to take was to tell his brain to stimulate the growth hormone, granted he produces it. It also made him really sleepy and could cause his blood pressure to drop. He slept from 7:00 until 9:45 a.m. His last blood draw was at 10:00 a.m. and at 10:30 he was finally able to eat breakfast. He had a big breakfast of waffles, eggs, bread, bacon, juice, milk, and coffee. Yes, Coffee! The cafeteria standarly put coffee on the tray. Josh told Dylan that it was coffee not tea. A few minutes later in his groggy state of mind, he started pouting and said, "I really want some coffee." Josh let him sip some and he quickly realized he didn't want anymore coffee. We had to wait until 11:30 to leave because he blood pressure wasn't going back up as quickly as they would have liked. It was 96/36 but he was walking and talking so he was alright. Unfortunately, I will not know anything until August. They have to send the blood work off to California.

If you are curious is the other two were good....they were. Gavin and Tyler were very good and the nurses complimented them many times on how well behaved they were. Josh and I both were shocked at how well behaved they were, actually! lol The room we were in had a tv, coloring books and crayons, toys, and a door that was painted with chaulk board paint. The kids were able to play and it wasn't a big deal. Oddly enough, they were quiet most of the time and we didn't have any major meltdowns from Mr. Gavin. The ONLY time he got upset was when Dylan had a huge tray of food and he didn't have one with his name on it. Gavin mad over food - imagine that.
